All it's doing is sending off midi notes at whatever tempo so I guess why would I think it wouldn't work globally with anything.Īlso say for example I'm doing an electronica buildup, creating tension and having the kick start to land on every four, then every eighth, then every sixteen, etc etc until the "drop" - this is done with one take with note repeat, where it has to be tediously programmed if not. The marketing said it supported other VSTS in Midi-Mode and no where did it say that note repeat isn't allowed in midi-mode even though Note-Repeat is marketed.

One of the main reasons I bought the maschine was for this capability fully thinking it would work with any vst. I love that about the maschine, BUT it only works within the maschine. Having a knob to adjust the tempo is really cool to me and feels great.

Take for example laying out hi-hats, within the Maschine I'm able to say (for simplicity) throw a 808 closed hat on a pad, throw note repeat on and hit the pad with one hand and use the other to toggle the time that the note repeat is firing off ( 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/32, etc ) and it's really fun, inspiring, and a lot of really cool sequences and rhythms come out of it. The problem with a simple arp is that it's just a steady note repeat which isn't very inspiring, fun, or really what I'm after.
